More of Our Horses
We have several horses that are on their second career or living their retired life. When then end up at our barn they have a home for life. Meet some of our past and present horses. We have several more either at Childress Rodgers Stables or the barn owners personal farm. They are each so loved and have impacted so many different people.
Bella
Bella was intended to be in our lesson program. However, it was evident that she had a rough past. She was given patience and understanding but in the end she was unhappy. She now lives her life fat and happy in the pasture.
Little Bits
Little Bits was going to be a beginner leadline pony. However, shortly after getting him he underwent colic surgery to remove bailing twine from his intestine from a previous home. He then lived happily in a pasture for several more years until he passed away.
Blaze
Blaze was always the perfect show horse and loved to show off. Blaze was a part of the program for several years. Now he was earned his retirement after a tendon injury. Dallas and he enjoy constant turnout and grass.
Poppy
Poppy was bought to be in our beginner lesson program. She was sweet and beautiful but it was evident she had been abused previously and was terrified of human touch. There were many attempts to work with her including a clinician that came into the barn. She has since passed away peacefully in her forever home.
Dallas
Dallas has always been a favorite in the lesson program and pony camp. However, he sustained an injury in the pasture and decided he was ready to retire. He now spends his day grazing in endless grass with his friend Blaze.
Nina
Nina was bought from New Vocations in attempt to give her a second career in the English world. She did not stay sound and was retired at a young age. She is still living life retired and happy in our care.
